The apparatus demonstrates the principle of a ram pump. It is to be used with HB100 Hydraulics Bench (separately supplied)
Water from a Hydraulics Bench is supplied to a reservoir with an overflow pipe. Height of the reservoir is adjustable. Water from the reservoir is supplied to the ram pump which has two valves. One valve allows the water to discharge in adjustable pulse. When this valve shuts, the pressure wave will push the water in the pump through a non return valve to the delivery pipe. Water is delivered to a clear graduated cylinder with an adjustable height. A pulse chamber is provided to smoothen the ram delivery.
